The collaboration between a director and a script writer can take a wide variety of forms. One might almost say that there are as many different methods of work as there are films. The traditional, commercial involves a more as less raided separation of scenario and image, story and style in short content and form.
The film script is not a finished work, it undergoes many re workings by people other than the script writer, notable by the director and a lesser degree by the editor and camera man.
